  • Bank Deposits Error After Upgrading to BC Version 24

We upgraded to BC version 24 last week. We are having problems getting bank deposits to post. They won’t post when using an account type of G/L Account (not a customer) on a deposit line. It is trying to associate the department dimension for the G/L account with the bank account G/L account in the bank deposit header and thus errors out. Is anybody else experiencing these problems after upgrading? If so, have you found a solution? Thank you!

Do you happen to have a screenshot of the error? It seems like it might have to do with the Dimension Requirements on the G/L account.

Thank you, Chris! Attached is a screenshot of the error message. We do not use a department dimension with balance sheet accounts. Our income statement accounts require a department dimension number.

We found a solution! On the bank deposit general journal template, I unchecked the Force Doc Balance option and this solved the problem.

Very good, deposits really don’t balance by document number. Document No. on the header is the Deposit number and on the lines, the document no. is typically different for each customer, vendor, GL
