Advanced Warehouse AutoFill Picks ?

  • Advanced Warehouse AutoFill Picks ?

Yesterday our system had a glitch and the Qty to Handle values on all active picks were auto-filled. Both active and scheduled picks at 3 different distribution centers were impacted, and we are trying to understand what instructed the system to make this update.

We’re running NAV2017 OnPrem, Lanham Whse with directed pick/put and Insight Works.

Change logs for the period in question show no out of the ordinary activity and we’re baffled. Has anyone else seen this kind of behavior? Any ideas?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I don’t know how your Picks are created, but during the Create Pick process is a toggle “Do not Fill Qty. to Handle”. If your Pick Creation is run on a Job Queue, is it possible someone accidentally flipped the toggle off? This would cause new Picks to be created with the Qty. to Handle filled in.

Especially in an on-premise environment, where it is less likely an update to the software occurred.

    Just a thought.

@benbaxter thank you for the reply!

All three Distribution Centers work independently to create the picks based on the staff each day. In some cases it’s the night before, in others more dynamically throughout the day.

I’d considered the “Do Not Autofill” check, and we’ve hard coded that with the OWR Pick/Ship process.

What is maddening: The records impacted were already created when the auto-fill was applied – across all locations.

    Thanks again.
