Mitigate D365 Finance & Supply Chain Risk: A New Release Readiness Framework

Session Overview:  AI features are auto-enabling in D365 F&O production environments with every wave release. Copilot is modifying workflows that have never been tested against non-deterministic outputs. And Microsoft’s quarterly service update cadence means organizations face multiple meaningful validation events per year. The traditional model: test late, test manually, test once no longer works.

This session examines how leading D365 Finance and Supply Chain teams are moving validation earlier in the development lifecycle, what that requires technically, and why shift left testing is the framework that changes everything about how F&O environments stay stable and low-risk.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand how Microsoft’s 2026 release wave changes the risk surface for D365 F&O teams — specifically where AI-modified workflows introduce new validation requirements that existing test coverage doesn’t address
  2. Map the three stages of a D365 Finance and Supply Chain development cycle where moving testing earlier reduces production failure risk and shortens release cycle time
  3. Build a practical shift left framework for F&O that enables developers to validate earlier without creating a new burden on already-stretched functional and operations teams
