Power BI Time Intelligence

Time Intelligence in Power BI allows easy time related calculations to be applied to measures relevant to a business’ success. After the model is built, a date table will need to be present to get the optimal effect and performance in Power BI. Flagged as a Date table with a unique Date data type column, the Time Intelligence DAX functions use this relationship to create measure like Sales Month to Date(MTD) or Year to Date(YTD). Additionally, the session will demonstrate the use of a Year\Month\Date hierarchy for enhanced visualizations with slicing and dicing date columns. Time Intelligence should be included in any Power BI model because of the unique benefits it brings to the table.
