Are We Ready to Go Live… or Are We in Trouble?

Session Overview: Many D365 F&SCM/CRM go-lives fall short not because of technology, but because teams fail to recognize warning signs until it is too late. In this session, we walk through a practical, field-tested go-live readiness framework built from real projects, including moments where teams were weeks away from a target date and had to make honest, hard calls. We cover Microsoft’s Go-Live Readiness Review process, the non-negotiable prerequisites (UAT in a Tier-2+ environment with real migrated data, the Customization Analysis Report, performance testing, and LCS/PPAC methodology completion), and the most common anti-patterns that signal a project heading off the rails: rigid timelines despite unresolved issues, single-pass data migration, no security role validation, no post-go-live support plan, and failures to communicate the cutover to the business. We also explore why a pilot go-live, when readiness evidence says “not yet”, almost always outperforms a forced full launch. Attendees will leave with a hands-on checklist they can apply immediately, no theory and no vendor pitch.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the top five go-live warning signs in D365 (Finance & SCM, CRM) projects and how to diagnose each one before it becomes a crisis.
- Build a go-live readiness checklist covering UAT scope, data migration validation, performance testing, security roles, and cutover communication.
- Decide when to delay or pivot to a pilot go-live and how to do so without destroying project momentum or stakeholder trust.”
