Good morning! I’ve got a unique report request that I’m struggling with and hoping someone out there has a suggestion. We are trying to look at all orders that do not have a line item for shipping (one of three item numbers). Some background information. We have in essence, three types of item numbers, tests, services and equipment. If we are performing a test, there should be a shipping and collection charge along with the test item number. 

Our system has 2 tables that I’ll need to look at:

Order
Customer Name
Sales Rep
PO Expiration Date
Etc.

Lines
Item Numbers
Qty
Unit Price
Etc.

Basically, I want a list of Orders that include Item Numbers beginning with “A” or “B” but do not have Item number “C-123”, “C-124” or “D-125”.

I was able to get the results by exporting from current PBI reports then manipulating with pivot tables and vlookups in Excel, but I’m looking to create a real time report. 

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Have a look at the EXCEPT function in DAX.  It allows you to find the Venn cuts you need.

Create one table variable that lists all Order numbers. Create another one with all Order numbers that do have C or D items.  Then do an EXCEPT between them, which will give you all order numbers that do not have C or D items.
