    Hey everyone,

I’m looking to add AI to our Power Platform apps and I want to hear from you. What are the biggest perks and problems you’ve faced using AI? I’m especially curious about AI Builder, Power BI, and Power Automate. If you’ve worked with AI in Power Apps or Power Automate, what features have you liked the most? Did any of the built-in AI tools surprise you in a good way?

On the other hand, what issues have you hit while using AI? Have you had trouble with data accuracy, slow performance, or connecting with external AI services like Azure? I’d love any tips or lessons you have to help make AI work better in Power Platform!

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Ivan,

I recently made some tests with AI Builder for automated document processing with Power Apps and Power Automate.

    • Data extraction worked pretty well with PDF’s received by email, but for paper documents scanned with a tablet and then converted in PDF (lower visual quality), I had to retrain the model to get accurate enough extraction results.
    • During the training, you can tag the zone of the document you want to assign to each parameter to be extracted BUT you can not correct the extracted value. For instance, if the model interprets an 8 as a 0, it is not possible to correct it.
    • AI Builder pricing is based on “credits”, the basic amount for these credits starting at 468€/month. The problem is that I desperately tried to get an estimation of the required amount of credits for the project I was working on, nobody could answer this question, including Microsoft resellers. And as far as Microsoft is concerned, it seems it is no more possible to reach any human for a question, their contact forms all consisting of chatbots apparently unable to answer such question types. Due to this uncertainty, my customer preferred to work with another solution.
    • Since then, I have learned that Azure AI Document Intelligence could be an interesting alternative to AI Builder: significantly cheaper, more customization capabilities, but requires the creation of an Azure account + more development work, too heavy for my customer.

These are my 2 cents 😊
