Question – Is there an easy way to move Test dataflows under a Test workspace into Production?

I have been creating dataflows in a Test workspace in app.powerbi.com. These dataflows are all connected to Test Power BI files. As I move towards production, I’d like to keep my Test Workspace / Test Dataflows and Test files all intact rather than just change the Odata link in the Test Dataflows to Production and rename my Test Files to Production. (If I do that I will lose my Test environment/files.)

What are folks doing here to maintain Dev / Test / Production files and environments with Power BI. The fact that each flow is an independent and unique element in a Power BI report means that a developer is stuck maintaining three different files, three different workspaces, ect.

      Hi Ian,

If you used PowerBI mechanism to create DEV/TEST/PRODUCTION workspaces you don’t have to recreate anything.

      What is procedure?
You create workspace. eg. ‘ML Business Reporting‘. Then you use Power BI to create Developer environment – click ‘Create Pipline

PowerBI will automatically created additional Workspaces

Sometimes process have to be done manually, if IT guys dont allow you to create workspace…

When you created Pipeline the icon changed to:

And when you click this you’ll get this view:
Just click ‘Deploy to production’ and you dont have to copy/update anything. You can deploy all files or you can pick one or two ore more from list under ‘Show more’

      I hope it help.
