    Hi,

i am working on a PowerApps that has a form (connected to SharePoint) and a 3-step approval workflow.
Currently it is possible during the process to make some changes in the form.

But now i got a new requirement to have digital signatures in it. As far as i know, this is not possible directly in PowerApps, right?
Do you have any idea or approach how to achieve that? The only approach i know is Adobe Sign in PowerAutomate, but that is only possible with PDF files and only outside of the PowerApp, right? And that would mean, i have to convert the item into PDF and everytime, a change is required, it has to start the process from the beginning šŸ™

Does anyone have an easy approach to have digital signatures for PowerApps contents?

    Hi Fabian,
I am also looking for a way to get signatures in a PowerApps form (connected to SharePoint). Excellent question.

Are you trying to get signatures for other document types? Most of the Digital Signature applications like Hellosign, Adobe or esignatures.io use the PDF format.
You could create a Power Automate flow that converts documents to a PDF and then sends the document for signature via their APIs.

Are you looking to manage the process within the PowerApp and show the status etc?

    Thanks

Yes, i have a 3-step approval process and i want to see (and in best case do the approval) within the powerapp.

Depending on how “Formalised” you need the e-siganture to be, you might be able to use the pen input control. Either on a separate screen where they can reuse it, or in a custom card on the form.

Reza has a cool video on submitting it to Sharepoint here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EACk5jlQ_jU&t=858s and Shane Young has also a vid on submitting it in different formats.

I would use a consent statement and include their SSO or user profile details to ensure that the person matches the signature – something like:

I, User().FullName agree and understand that by signing the Electronic Signature
Acknowledgment and Consent Form, that all electronic signatures are the legal equivalent of my
manual/handwritten signature and I consent to be legally bound to this agreement.

and then once that field has data in it – make the item disabled, so that it can’t be messed with.

    Hope this helps

Thats what i am currently doing, but in many cases, this is not formal enough. When i simply save the approver name and signature e.g. in SharePoint it is not saved for manipulating it afterwards

I guess there is no way to directly sign e.g. a form within PowerApps, therefore PDF would be the next best option. But yes, i then need to check the signature status in the PowerApp. Lets say i submit a form in the PowerApp and it walks through 3 approvals.
How can i check the status of the 3 signatures in the PowerApp?
