Altitude Tactics has been the first BO7 event in a while that doesn’t feel like it’s trying to trick you. No weird “do this while doing that” checklist. It’s just XP, straight up, and every match nudges the tracker forward. That’s why it pairs so neatly with the Black Ops Royale rollout—Multiplayer, Zombies, and the Royale side all count. If you’re the kind of player who likes to keep things simple and still cash out rewards, it’s hard to argue with it, even if you’re also dipping into stuff like CoD BO7 Bot Lobby setups to warm up or test builds.

XP gains that don’t waste your time

If you want to finish the track fast, you’ve gotta stop treating it like a normal “play a few matches” week. XP events reward volume and activity. Modes where the score keeps flowing are king. Hardpoint is the obvious pick because you’re earning for breaks, holds, and kills while you’re in the hill. Domination’s great too, especially if you’re the player who actually sits on B instead of chasing clips. And don’t be shy about stacking little points: shoot down streaks, toss down trophy systems, grab tags when they’re safe. It adds up quicker than people think.

Zombies is the quiet cheat code

Zombies players have it easy here, and I mean that in the best way. Once you’re past the early rounds and your setup’s rolling, XP starts climbing like mad. Long survival, big elimination chains, and staying busy with objectives tends to beat a lot of average Multiplayer lobbies. The trick is keeping momentum. Don’t spend five minutes reorganising your loadout or running laps doing nothing. Keep killing, keep moving, keep the rounds turning. If you’ve got a squad, split tasks so nobody’s standing around, because idle time is basically lost progress.

Double XP and the “play loud” approach

Since the whole event is an XP meter, Double XP tokens aren’t a nice bonus—they’re the accelerator. Pop them when you know you can play uninterrupted, not right before dinner. You’ll tear through the early rewards like the Rainfall universal camo and the Pinnacle reticle without even thinking about it. Also, play like you mean it. Objective XP is safer than kill-chasing because it’s consistent, and consistency is what wins these events. Push the zone, hold angles, and accept that you might die a bit more while you’re learning the rhythm.

Getting comfortable with the Voyak KT-3

The Voyak KT-3 is why most people are grinding, and it’s not just hype. It hits hard, but it won’t carry you if you treat it like a bullet hose. The fire rate feels slower than the slicker ARs, so missing shots hurts. You’ll notice the recoil has a twitch to it, especially if you panic in mid-range fights. The built-in digital range-finder is the real flavour, though—it pushes you to take smarter fights and stop guessing distances. Learn that comfy window around the mid-20 metres, build your attachments around stability, and you’ll see why folks want it early. If you’re trying to stay ahead of the curve, finishing Altitude Tactics while the lobbies are still experimenting—and while you’re still running into BO7 Bot Lobbies now and then—can make the whole unlock feel way less painful.
