Does anyone knowĀ howĀ GP is going to be handling the new W-4 form for 2020. Looks like they will be going away with the Allowances and calculating tax aĀ whole new way and didn’t know how they are going to change and expecting that to be in place with the year end updates? They are telling us that we do not have to require new forms for the employees for the new year but the old ones are based on allowances/exemptions and the new form does not have them any more. So what happens in the system if they don’t file out a new form? Any guidance or assistance would be much appreciated.

Hi ,
I recently did a user group webinar on this specific topic. In preparation, I reached for some information on how Microsoft is going to handle this. At this point, they are evaluating the changes, but don’t have a firm direction. They are planning to make changes to accommodate the new W-4.
If you have 20 minutes, I would encourage you to review the PUG meeting recording:

There has been talk about tinkering with the payroll tax in the news, so they will likely wait until later in the year to address this.Ā They always come out with a payroll tax upgrade each year.Ā Every year there are form changes.
