I check with BSO (SS Adm) and the SSN is right. How do I clear this error and where is this report finding this error. In other word how does GP know that the SSN is invalid.

Hi Richard, there is a combination of items that we do and I listed below.
The validation report is just warnings, if you feel the SSN is OK, that is fine, leave it as is and ignore the error message. Your W2’s will print and file fine.
In our system we validate the SSN number on the Employee MNT window. The Edit W2 window. The validation report on the print w2 window. All 3 windows use the same validation script from the employee MNT window. In addition the validation report also does these checks. The SSN validation is as follows If it is blank throw a message on the report If it is less than 9 characters throw a message on the report Are the first 3 digits all zeros throw a message on the report We also validate if there are duplicate SSN’s in the UPR00100 table. Hope this helps, thanks
