User unable to access Smartlist
Posted by MARY MALLAZZO on May 23, 2017 at 8:21 am-
Hello
We have an existing user, who suddenly can no longer access Smartlist.Ā I checked his user security and he still has SmartList access.Ā Another user signed on to his workstation can access Smartlist.Ā Ā We have looked at the SY01402 table and heĀ has syDefaultType = 96Ā Ā . Anyone encounter this before?Thank you

He can access it. He just got too cute with multiple monitors etc. and minimized it somewhere and can’t find it now.
Run this:
update SY01402 set syuserdfstr = ‘FALSE~423~930~-50~-28~177~’ where sydefaulttype = 96 and userID = ‘XXXXXXXX’It’ll be OK until he loses it again.
Then take away their multiple monitors if they persist in losing things. š
There’s also a windows command to re-access lost windows. Ā Right Ā click maximize while hoveringĀ over its shadow

Actually that is not the issue.Ā I signed onĀ to my laptop with his user id , no multi screens, and have the same issue.
We created a new user id and he is OK now.——————————

The problem was not at the client workstation. For Smartlist, hisĀ syuserdfstr string was badĀ where sydefaulttype = 96 in SY01402.
You needed to reset it to a known good string such as = syuserdfstr = ‘FALSE~423~930~-50~-28~177~’Ā where sydefaulttype = 96.
Or set it to the same string value as another user who was OK.
Not create a new userID.

For those withĀ multiple monitors, GP PowerTools has a feature to keep GPĀ screens like SmartList on visible areas.

Hi All
In addition to the option to prevent windows from opening outside the visible area of the desktop, the Window Position Memory feature added in build 22 of GP Power Tools will save the size, position and and state for any window in the application.
This feature actually replaces the window memory code for Smartlist. There are actually two bugs with the original code and GPPT fixes these.
Bugs:
1) Window will move 6 pixels every time it is opened
2) If window is maximized when it is closed, stored size data is corrupted.David
