Unwanted exchange rates entries

Hi All,we are currently facing an issue with the multicurrency tables. Basically, we setup the exchange rate for 2017, which should be the same for the entire year. However, we noticed that some random entries are added at random days with no expiry date, and the exchange rate of 2016.
This causes some of our invoices to fail posting because of multicurrency issues.
Did anyone experience something like that? Do you know when GP adds exchange rates automatically?
Thanks a lot for your help!
Stef

Hi Stefania,
GP has no automatic insertion of new rates in the MC tables.. so unless you have a routine setup outside of GP that does this, or any 3rd party product that pulls currency rates from the web and pushes them to the MC tables, this is not likely to happen ‘by itself’..
I suggest that you check the GP security also and monitor closely who has access to this window.Administration >> Cards >> System >> Exchange Table
This window doesn’t require the system password to access.. unlike the MC setup form.
If you’re not sure from where this comes, you may want to monitor the table MC00100 from the DYNAMICS system DB.
A few years ago, our controller was complaining that entries were disappaering (he swear he had entered them a few days before).. I put a SQL trigger on this table to collect every evidence of who was doing any changes to this table, so I could have a log of all additions, changes and deletions from the MC.. guess what ? since I put this tracking in place, no MC entry has ever disappeared :-).. but I can check any point in time and see when a new rates was added or changed in GP and by who.——————————

We have worked for several years with Andrew Dean at Envisage Software, they make an exchange rate feed product that is affordable, easy to install, and works well with GP.I do recommend that if you are going to use any exchange rate product, do not use the “free” services, they are often not reliable, you will also want to subscribe to Oanda or XE for your currency updates for a more reliable feed back into the software. Most of the currency products out there work with these two providers.Rob Klaproth
