I am trying to delete a purchase order in the GP, However when I hit the delete button noting happens and I don’t know why. Any suggestions?——————————

I have seen this happen once before, so I may not be the best expert on this…
It has to do with a commit at the SQL level.
Have you tried to save the PO first, Log out of Dynamics GP, log back in and then delete?——————————

?Hi
Have you tried closing it through Edit Purchase Order Status? Purchasing>>Transactions>>Edit Purchase Order?

Hi Shari,I just tried it and the Purchase Order Status is blank. When I hit the drop down arrow, no options show, the box is just white.

?Hi Dawn,
It does sound like the PO is caught someplace in SQL.
Does the PO show up through the looking glass at the PO number field on the entry screen? If it does, I know this sounds weird, but try adding a line item, save it, and see if you can delete it then.

Hi
To get rid of this you’ll need to either run reconcile on that PO Number to loosen it up or you’ll need to run Check Links on Purchase Orders.
If neither of those works, take a backup of the database and run this query where ‘XXXXXX’ is your PO number from the screenshot.
DELETE POP10100 WHERE PONUMBER = ‘XXXXXX’
DELETE POP10110 WHERE PONUMBER = ‘XXXXXX
Some folks would just start with the Delete statements, but its usually better to at least try the Reconcile first!

Hi All:
Heard from that running reconcile on the document allowed her to then delete it, in case anyone wants the resolution for future reference.
