My guess is that (The Smartlist builder / SmartView Goddess) will set me straight:-)

1) In SL you can filter on criteria that is not included in the results, however, I can’t figure out a way to do that in SV.

    Can this be done?

2) I can’t find a way to add an Export Solution in SV.
    Do we have to just set up a macro in Excel instead?

I’ll also accept replies from anyone in our great community that knows the answers.

Hope this helps answer your questions Frank.

1) In SL you can filter on criteria that is not included in the results, however, I can’t figure out a way to do that in SV.  Can this be done?

Answer:  To search on a field currently in SmartView, the field has to be on the list.  We don’t load all the fields into memory like SmartList does for performance reasons.   There is a feature request to change this, but it isn’t currently available.

2) I can’t find a way to add an Export Solution in SV.  Do we have to just set up a macro in Excel instead?

Answer:  SmartView does not interact with the Export Solutions.  The Export Solutions are a function built into the SmartList dictionary.  You would want to use the macro options in Excel if you are needing the same type of functionality.  The other option would be to use something like Excel Report Builder to build the list and have all the formatting you need in that file.
