      Hello All,Ā

Is there a way to limit table access within smartlist builder?Ā  (ie – I would like to give a user access to smartlist builder but would not want them to be able to see the financial and payroll tables)

      Thanks,

      Scott

      Hi Scott,

There is only one security operation under the access list in the Security Task Setup window:
      Product: SmartList Builder
      Type: SmartList Builder Permissions
      Series: SmartList Builder
Operation: View SmartLists with SQL Tables

However, if the user who has access to create smartlists doesn’t have permission to the Finance and Payroll modules, then they can only create the smartlists but will not be able review them and see the data.

      Scott,

The table security that Sarah provided the link for is exactly what you want to look it.Ā  It was specifically designed with the payroll module in mind.Ā

The Table Security will set SmartList Builder not to display which ever tables you mark in the Table Security window when adding tables and anywhere else in the Builder tools that you can see the lists of tables.Ā  You can add a role to the window that you want to exclude from this security if you want a few users to be able to add all tables.

Just remember when setting it up, that any tables you check will not display in the table lists in SmartList Builder. Ā
