Hello all currently i am working in GP 2015 and have come across a problem with one of our users not being able to get into inventory tools due to security privileges however when me and my boss checked his access he had full security rights on inventory tools we also logged in on his computer as an SA to double check it wasn’t a corrupted file everything worked fine we are both at a loss as to why this could be happening and any help would be very much appreciated

Which section of the Inventory Module are you working to gain him access to?

Are your security rights utilizing the preset security roles/tasks in GP or a custom configuration of them?

They need the ADMIN…INV security tasks to do what you want.  Check the Security Role Setup report to see if the Role they’re assigned includes those Tasks. If not, add them to the Task or create a new Role with those Tasks and assign them that new Role.

      Hi Ross

Identifying security issues and how to fix them is simple with GP Power Tools.

The Security Profiler will show what they need access to and the Security Information window shows what access they have and how to grant access.

      Hi Bradely,

I’m with Kelly on this one.. .which form is it you try to access with that user ? this looks like an Alternate Forms & Reports Security issue and/or with a 3rd party product involved…
