      ?Hello All,

I have an issue that has popped up a few times over the past few weeks. Sales order has a stock item, item is added to inventory with an inventory adjustment. Item inquiry shows all pieces allocated, but when you clickĀ the Allocated link it shows only 1Ā piece allocated to that order, and the order is only partially fulfilled. We can work around by manually removing backorder and adding fulfilled amount, but it can be time consuming. Screen shots attached. So far only one employee has noticed and/or told me about this occurrence.

      Hi ,

Thanks for the screenshots!Ā  They always help!Ā

Allocations can go a bit sideways for several reasons which we can dive into if you’re interested, but any time I hear that the QTY Allocated on the Item Inquiry doesn’t match the Allocated detail link/drill down, I have clients start with a reconcile.Ā  Go to Inventory>>Utilities>>Reconcile.

You can choose to reconcile one item, a series of sequential items, or the entire inventory…be warned the entire inventory can take awhile if you have a large number of items!Ā

You can’t have users interacting/impacting inventory (Sales orders, purchasing, inventory adjustments, etc.) when you attempt the reconcile.Ā  If you have users doing so, GP will tell you that you can’t complete the reconcile.??Ā  Usually people end up running this during the evening or weekend for this very reason.

Do you happen to use Manufacturing in GP? There are a few other things at play if so, but I wouldn’t go down that path until you try the reconcile first.

      Does that make sense?

      Thanks,

      Samantha

?Thanks Samantha, I never even thought of reconcile in inventory. The user has already fixed it with a work around I described, but I will remember for next time. I would only reconcile one item, anymore more than that would need to be done by someone higher up than me!
