      Hello, all!Ā

I’ve recently run into a problem in the Manufacturing end of GP.Ā

On an MO, we had to drop the quantity. The MO is question was already Released to the floor. I have followed the steps in the GP MFG Production Functions, but I believe I missed a step.Ā

I went to the MO, went to Comp. Trans. Entry and Reversed Issued and posted. Then went to Reverse Allocate and save. When I went to change the status of the MO from Released to Open, a window panel prompt comes up and asks if I want to unallocate the material. Which, I would click “unallocate”.Ā

That window panel did not come up and now I have material stuck in WIP and not put back into our Inventory.Ā

I am at a loss. Any help would be more than grateful.

      ?Nick,

So if I’m understanding right you didn’t get the window to unallocated the inventory?
In the MO did you update the ending and start quantities? What if you reschedule and rebuild the picklist; see if that updates your inventory. Not sure why you wouldn’t get the “unallocated or leave” inventory pop-up window. I just did a trial in our test company and that’s the best I could suggest as a try/quick fix.

      ?Nick,
I’m assuming that components were actually issued into WIP.Ā  If so this would have removed the allocations.Ā  So when you changed the MO status from released to open there would have been nothing to unallocated.
When you did the component issue transaction, this should have removed the quantities from WIP and put the materials back into stock.Ā  Did this Reverse Issue transaction post?
If you look at one of the components item transaction history do you see a transaction for the reverse issue?
The MO Activity window would give you the specific adjustment transaction number.

Aleiha-Thank you for the test run. We did update the start and ending quantities. We rescheduled and nothing was updated in our inventory.Ā

      I appreciate it.Ā

Andrew-All components were issued after release.Ā

When I had to reverse everything out, I did post. I looked at the history and there was no receipt for the material being put back into inventory.Ā

I have added these three screenshots to help.Ā

It’s looking like the material never posted.Ā

The MO Activity window will tell you whether or not the reverse issue was posted.Ā

Also, when my inventory out of whack, reconciliation for the affected items usually correct anything in limbo mode (usually, not always).——————————————-
