Purchase Tax Schedule Key + Gorilla Expense
Posted by Pam Palmer on March 5, 2018 at 2:32 pm-
I’m trying to resolve an apparent issue on our end with/between Dynamics GP 2013R2 and Gorilla Expense.
We have been trying to get Gorilla Expense to integrate with our Dynamics with absolutely no luck.Ā According to logs the failure issue is “PurchaseTaxScheduleKey does not existz”.Ā GE and I have looked all over and cannot find where this supposed key is supposed to be or why it is missing.Ā We have been utilizing GP since 2001 with no other errors about this.Ā Ā
While looking through our system GE believe the issue “might” be due to the fact we do not have a “checkbox/mark” next to the Selected Tax Detail Ids under the TaxSchedule Maintenance (see attached photo).Ā We have never had this check box and the lack thereof does not seem to affect how we use GP.Ā It appears to simply be a box stating that there is an auto-calculation that is to take place.

Right now we are continuing to use GE but we are not getting the full benefits because it is not integrating with GP.Ā If anyone else has any thoughts about this I would appreciate your input.Ā GE says it is up to us to get this resolved.Thank you,

PamI don’t have experience with integrating Gorilla Expense (GE) but when I saw the Auto-Calc. check box I was curious because I don’t recall seeing it before. I did some digging and I found that the appearance of these check boxes is a result of enabling the “Specify Tax Details for Automatic Tax Calculation” option in Company Setup Options (Administration>Setup>Company>Company>Options). Ā
Hopefully knowing this will allow you to do some testing with “Specify Tax Details for Automatic Tax Calculation” both enabled and disabled to determine whether or not this option is interfering with your GE integration.
All the best as you work through this.

?Ā Thank you for your detective work in finding this for me.Ā I will test this out and see if it’s the hindrance for us and how it would affect us with our other applications.

Hi,
For what it’s worth, the default is to not have this box checked. If it isn’t checked, all of the tax details in the tax schedule are automatically used to calculate the tax amount. Do you have some instances where you’ve included a tax detail in a tax schedule that you do not want used to calculate tax?Ā
Personally, I do not have that particular box checked in company setup. I would be curious to hear from anyone who uses it to help me understand where checking it would be necessary.
Thanks!

Leslie,
thanks for responding.Ā In answer to your question, NO we do not have any instances where we would need this checkbox.Ā And looking through our system gives me great pause to start implementing it.Ā I’m still having a hard time trying to figure out why this box should be there and checked in order to allow us to integrate Gorilla Expense with GP.Ā
We only have the one validation error “PurchaseTaxScheduleKey does not exist”
I cannot even find where this is mentioned within the software (but I’m just a novice).Ā If you have any knowledge or input as to where this Purchase Tax Schedule Key should exist, I would greatly appreciate it.Ā Gorilla has been assuming it is because we do not have the check box (and have it marked) but after reviewing I’m pretty sure our company does not want to utilize it. ?
Thank you for your time.
