Modify a Word Template
Posted by MARY MALLAZZO on May 24, 2017 at 12:59 pm-
Hello
We are using the Word template to print A/P Check Remittance.Ā I created a new template based on the original, made changes to the new one, assigned it to the company, but it is still printing the original template.Ā
What am I missing?
Ā
Ā
Thank you

It sounds like you have not set up the new one as Default under Company Assignment window——————————————- -
I do have the modified version assigned to the company …..see attached, and I also unchecked the original version

There are many things with Word Templates that could be the culprit.Ā But let’s start with a basic…..Did you update GP Security to use the modified report rather than the standard?——————————

Are you referring to the Alternate/Modified Forms and Report Screen?
If so, oddly enough I do not see it listed…..maybe that is the issue?——————————

Yes, the Alternate/Modified Forms andĀ Reports areaĀ is what I’m referring.Ā Depending on your security, you may need to verify which ID you need to update (if you have more than 1 ID)
From your description of steps to create the word template, you may have missed the portion where you create the modified report (which then shows up in the security).Ā This link to Leslie Vail’s outline for word templates should help find other pieces toĀ creating a word templateĀ you may need as well.Ā As she states, Word Templates are tricky.Ā Let us know if we can assist further.

Quick and Dirty Checklist for Modifying Word Templates I was asked recently for the basic steps on how to modify Word templates. They didn’t need step-by-step instructions, just something to help them along the way. Here’s the list I came up with. I’m sure something is missing, I trust you will correct me where I’m wrong.
