      Gang,

I have a trend income statement in MR with a column for each month and a total column O to the far right.  In the column format, the CALC formula for column O is “C:N” creating the total.

In the row format, one row calculates the gross profit percentage for each monthly column:
You’ll note that I restricted this to the monthly columns only, omitting it from the total column O.  The reason is that I cannot figure out how to get this percentage to work correctly in that column.  If I remove the restriction to allow the CAL to work in the total column, it adds all the percentages across the row instead of doing the division calculation that I need.

      Any suggestions are appreciated.

      Thanks!

      Hi, Don,

I wrestled with something very similar for our main P&L report. The first thing I’d suggest is to examine the “Calculation priority” on the Report Definition’s Settings page. Make sure that you select the “Perform column calculation first and then row” radio button.

      Regards,

      Hey Don,

As Steve mentioned, changing the calculation priority in the Settings tab should correct your issue, which is common. However, changing the setting can have unintended consequences at times as it may cause a similar problem on row totals where you calculating ratios in your column def. Usually, one or the other produces the desired results, but beware.
