      Hello,

What is Mainstream Support End Date and Extended Support End Date means?
      https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search?alpha=Dynamics%20GP

Also, what is Service Pack Support End?

Just wanted to ask if my understanding is correct.

      Thanks,

      Hi Cecile,

Enjoyed meeting you at Summit 2019. Hope all are healthy in your world.

These tables may help. The biggest difference is that when you go into the Extended Support End date, if you are using GP Payroll, you will no longer receive tax table updates from Microsoft. If your maintenance is current, under Mainstream support, this includes the payroll tax tables, security updates, feature requests, etc…Please keep in mind that after Mainstream support ends, Microsoft typically does not provide enhancements to GP. When Extended support ends, patches, security updates, etc…are no longer available from Microsoft.

Products Released Lifecycle Start Date Mainstream Support End Date
      Dynamics GP 2016 5/1/2016 7/13/2021
      Dynamics GP 2016 R2 12/1/2016 7/13/2021
      Dynamics GP 2018 12/1/2017 1/10/2023
      Dynamics GP 2018 R2 10/2/2018 1/10/2023

Products Released Lifecycle Start Date Extended Support End Date
      Dynamics GP 2016 5/1/2016 7/14/2026
      Dynamics GP 2016 R2 12/1/2016 7/14/2026

      Dynamics GP 2018 R2 10/2/2018 1/11/2028

      Thanks,

Hello, we will take 2015 as an example as that recently changed

Products Released Lifecycle Start Date Mainstream Support End Date Extended Support End Date

      Dynamics GP 2015 R2 8/30/2015 4/14/2020 4/8/2025

Mainstream support end date which is 4/14/2020 mean that is the end of all updates for this product, such as service packs, hot fixes, tax updates, year end updates any type of regulatory update is completed and really you as a customer needs to focus on upgrading.

The extended support end date means, you can call into support we will help you with questions on GP 2015 till 4/8/2025.  Try to assist you, but again, you get no updates.

This blog we publish explains a bit as well
