We have one user who is creating Journal Entries but they would intermittently not print when posted. The bank deposit report also didn’t print. This has become a normal occurrence now. Her desktop printer works for everything else except GP. She only does journal entries. I had her change to print to PDF and that didn’t work either. Is there a setting or set up we are missing? in process monitor it thinks it is trying to print but it never happens.

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Thank you,

      Hi Charlotte,

Can you print to screen? What version of GP are you running?

My suggestion would be to delete all of your printers and re-add. It might be a bad printer driver. Also, make sure the default printer is set to a PCL-type printer. Something standard. Printers/printing is environment, not GP as it has very little to do with printing. How are you trying to print to PDF? Are you using the Microsoft print to PDF or a third-party application?

Here are two links that might help:

Post if this works or doesn’t work, and perhaps we can get to the solution on this thread.

Responding on behalf of Charlotte:  The issue appears to have been related to a permissions issue within the GP User Profile. To test, we copied the profile of a working user to the non-working user. This may end up being a temporary work around but if the issue returns we’ll update here accordingly.

@Mark Wiley I couldn’t get signed on yesterday so had Rives respond but the profile seems to have corrected the issue. She was not able to print to a different printer as I had her attempt that first. ?And it was Microsoft print to PDF. We are running 2018 R2 (18 00.0672 R2). Just wanted to put this out in case anyone else ran into the same thing. Again, appreciate the response.

      Hi Charlotte and Rives,

Thank you for the information. I have seen OS/network permissions and user profiles cause strange GP problems. Dynamics GP wants locla Administrator rights or it has problems. I am glad you have it resolved, and that I was able to add to the process.
