?I am looking to speed up the exporting of SmartList results to Word.Ā  We found the Dex.ini setting of SmartlistEnhancedExcelReport=TRUE years ago and it did speed up the exporting to Excel.Ā  Can any confirm if there is a SmartlistEnhancedWordReport=TRUE setting or something similar.Ā  We have a basic export of the out of the account account listing to Excel in under a minute but to word that export is about 5 minutes.

      Thank you.

      Hi Bill,

The most comprehensive post I’ve seen on this are from :

      Hi Bill,

The problem with exporting from a SmartList favorite to Word instead of Excel is that Word has to draw a table and insert each value field by field. All that overhead is expensive, and you see (rather slowly) the result of that overhead expense.

But if we take a step back and ask why a list is being sent to Word to begin with, maybe we can come up with a better solution.

For example, if it’s for a mailmerge document in Word, I would still send the SmartList data to Excel, then use the Excel file for my mailmerge datasource.

Or first go to Excel, and then as a second step, go from Excel to Word.
