I have been asked to research the possibility of setting up an integration to import daily deposits.Ā  Ideally, we would like to create one import that could then be loaded into multiple operating companies in GP at the same time.Ā

Do you know if GP has the capability to do this?Ā
What is the best way to accomplish this task?

      Thank you for your insights.

      Hi

It IS possible, but here’s the thing, importing daily deposits means the data is or is likely unique to only one company.

What I’ve done for multiple of my clients is setup maps in SmartConnect and point them at a file or file location where the end user saves the daily drop files to then I copy the maps and point them to the right files-for-the-right-company and then schedule them to run one after the other.

In this way the only thing an end user had to do is to save the files in a certain location or by a certain name and SmartConnect and GP do the rest.?

      Hi Heidi,
What integration are you using to integrate data to GP?Ā  In your source file, do you already have the Company it should go into?Ā  If you have integration manager or smartconnect you should be able to do it.

Integration Manager maybe more cumbersome as you need to create integration for each company.

      Thank you, and ,

We currently use IM quite extensively.Ā  It sounds like SmartConnect is a better solution.

      I appreciate your feedback.

      Heidi??

Without.a.doubt.Ā  Ā I’ve used them both, and SmartConnect can do so, so much more than ‘just’ integrate data.Ā  It’s an extremely handy tool to have with GP!?
