How to suppress $0.00
Posted by Pam Palmer on April 12, 2021 at 2:24 pm-
While in the process of switching to Word Templates my boss asked if we would still have access to the standard reports which I of course said yes.Ā He has a request.Ā On several of our SOP Order Entries we have $0.00 amount to go with the items.Ā He wanted to know if there is a way to hide (suppress) the $0.00 when there is nothing in it (i.e. equal to $0.00).Ā He doesn’t like seeing these fields when there is no charge.
This is where I am struggling.Ā This would entail a calculated field for the Unit price and extended price and I’m not sure how to create the perfect conditional statement that would suppress the $0.00 when it is equal to $0.00.
Any Thoughts on this?Ā And while I’m at it.Ā Once the conditional statement is creating, would I be able to carry that over to a new Word Template (.xml)?Ā
Thank you

Hi ,
There may be a more efficient way to do this than what I have, but it’s what I could make work today. š
I ended up having to do 3 calculated fields to arrive at the unit price (in theory it would be 3 for the extended price as well).
1.) Red Field – I did an if/then to assign a value of 1 to any price that is NOT 0.00 and a 0 to anything that is.
2.) Turquoise Field – I converted the unit price to a string value.
3.) Teal Field – I did an if/then statement that said if the Red Field had a value of 1 return the Turquoise field (string version of the unit price) else return blank.I have left all the fields on the report and visible so you can see them, but in theory you could choose to only show the Teal field that shows $32,000 for the row 2 and a blank for row 1 (set value to invisible if empty).
Does that make sense?Ā I can print the report definition if you want to see what the actual calculations are.
?
Let me know if you have questions.Best,
Samantha?

She’s right…there is a more efficient way.
Use an appropriate currency format on the field to meet your needs and then choose “hide when empty”.

I think you also should know more about b2b sales and lead generation byhttps://belkins.io/. The goal of each lead qualification activity should be to create new sign ups, increase the number of sign ups from existing customers, and close new sales. Outsourcing your b2b appointment setting allows you to hire the right people to follow up with leads so that you can focus on building your business and increasing your profits instead of wasting time and energy trying to identify new leads. I think about use this service
