How to get my registration keys on old GP with no enhancement

  • How to get my registration keys on old GP with no enhancement

Posted by ian richardson on June 8, 2026 at 12:30 pm

i have inherited an OLD GP version 10.0. The company has long ago not paid for enhancement. I want to use the free PSTL tool. The reg key that is inserted is not the TWO reg key but it claims to not be the correct reg key.

I am told that customers off enhancement do not have access to the current version of what once was customer source.

The VAR does not have the reg keys saved anywhere.

I still legally own this software and should be able to use all parts of it. Suggestions on how else to get my reg keys?

    thanks!

    Hi @iruserwingmail-com

GP 10.0 registration keys. Here are some practical options:

    1. Microsoft Direct – Contact them with proof of purchase. They sometimes retrieve keys for old versions.

    2. Check Your Files – Search your GP installation folder and Windows registry for .lic files or key info.

    3. Look for Documentation – Original purchase agreement, license certificate, old emails from your VAR.

    4. VAR Again – Ask if they have physical filing records from 2007-2010 era.

    5. Test PSTL Anyway – Some versions work in limited mode without full registration.

    6. Workarounds – If keys are truly lost, use alternative tools for what you need outside GP.

GP 10.0 is very old, so some features may not work regardless.

But these options should help you recover or work around the issue.

    One more thing:

We’ve been working in the Dynamics space for years, and we see this exact situation regularly – especially with customers using VARs where support has decreased on the GP side. You’re definitely not alone.

If you need expertise on this, we’re here to help. Whether it’s:

    – Getting your GP environment back on track

    – Enhancement/customization support on GP

    – Upgrading or migrating to Business Central

    – Or just ongoing GP support

Feel free to reach out. We’d love to assist.

    Good luck!

    Ian,

    To see your registration keys:

    – Log into GP with the sa account.

    – Navigate to: Microsoft Dynamics GP > Setup > System > Registration

    – You can copy them out of the window. Be careful to not make any changes!

    Good luck.

    Chris
