Effective April 2023, the GPUG site will no longer be functional…

As was announced at Summit 2022, our old friend GPUG web site, will be retired – heading to the retirement home it does so richly deserves.  The new DCI  (Dynamics Communities) website will support many of the old GP forums and discussion rooms, along with many new and exciting features.

We say, Thank You GPUG web site, for the many years of knowledge, connections and friends you have given to us all.

Understandably, there have been many questions about how this is going to affect our GPUG peeps.  Remember this is still a work in progress.

Old Site Issues

It was discovered that many of the old sites, not just GPUG, were a data nightmare originating in their siloed and orphaned designs. His design meant, there was no connection between users on GPUG, BC/NAV or any of the other UG’s to allow for cross connections.  DCI is going to try and do their best at saving what they can from the old site.

The old site is ‘rented’ and not owned, so we are limited on how we can extract data to get it into the new system.  Unfortunately not all data will be transitioned.

LOGIN Accounts

DCI is currently in the finishing process of migrating all the ACTIVE Memberships from the old UG sites to the new DCI site.

History of Data

As mentioned, the data is a mess with limited connection points.

DCI is trying to migrate discussion issues per a single thread for the most recent history. They can only go back so far.

If there is something very important you would like archived, please let us know in a reply to this posting and we will see what can be accomplished.
