GP2016, latest service pack, latest hotfix for web client downloaded direct from microsoft.Did a repair of everything, I even deleted the GPConfiguration database, and did another repair to re-create the DB.Ā Ā Did a repair on the GP client, made sure web client option is installed as part of the GP client.Ā
When I login to GP this is all I get.Ā Ā No GP login screen, no access denied, nothing.Ā Event viewers are all clean, Dynamics log, app log, system log, security log, etc…Ā Ā

Any ideas why the web client is not launching here?Ā I should be getting a GP login screen ,Ā not just the Dynamics Gp logo! š——————————

Hi Rob,
No offense here… but your network login shows “usnetadministrator”… is that on purpose or the real login you’re using… ? just noticing.
What browser are you using ? have you tried Chrome or Edge as an alternative ? I had had some issues with IE 11 in the beginning.
Check your “compatibility view” mode in IE settings..——————————

Hi Beat,Yes I am logged in with the domain admin account, it’s a pretty small shop and that’s how they wanted to set everything up with the domain admin. š
We have now tried other, non-admin accounts, and it has the same issue. š
I have tried both Firefox and IE, i will try the compatibility mode and let you know.Ā My suspicion is the issue lies somewhere in the connection back to the installed GP client on the server, as that seems to be where the process is breaking down.

If you log directly into the server and browse via Localhost, or from the IIS Admin console, is it the same issue?——————————

Hi Rob,
I was going to ask the same question as Beth.. I usually start to test directly on the server if the WEB service is up & running properly, the login should work from there too. If it doesn’t work on the server where GP web services are installed, then there is something wrong and should be investigated first.
If the client login works on the server side, then the remote from a workstation might be issues with internal network ports or trafic blocking, or authentication issues.——————————

What Beat & Beth are most likely leading to is that there is something wrong with the certificate authentication.
I had a lot of challenges with this in the last web client implementation. As soon as we ironed out our certificate issues, that hanging screen went away.——————————
