We just used GPPT as our platform for a recent and simple customization, it worked so well that I feel the need to share.

For some that are already using VST, VBA, etc, it’s likely a matter of preference but for those that don’t have a ton of customizations scaled out already, I’d highly recommend consider doing them within GPPT.

– Customizations stay super visible (just a separate tab–>window in GP versus being more “behind the scenes”)
– Capabilities are almost endless
– Simple implementation (Basically turn it off/on from a window within GP)
– The logic itself is similar to what you’d see in other customization tools so on-going support options should be the same

Again, just a great & simple experience from our end and something I’d highly recommend others considering in the future.

Customization itself was for fixed assets.  If/when an existing asset is changed, display a ‘Reason for Change’ window that then saves into the notes field associated with that asset.  This note provides the explanation that our reviewers and auditors need (and GP should prompt for out of the box but another story).
