HI Everyone and thanks for looking at my information request.

Can anyone share with me any Balance Sheet and P&L Reports in Excel that connected to GP that can be customized that look anything like those available with JetReports?

      Thanks

Ernesto, are you aware that Jet Reports has a Jet Express for Excel available for free that links into MSDGP databases?  I do not know which Jet reports you are referring to but if the Jet Reports are using the Jet function supported in Jet Express the reports will work.

      Ernesto,
I use Microsoft Query in Excel to establish a live link to the GL tables in Excel.  I’ve been able to create all the normal financial statements, balance sheet, income statements, cash flow as well as some dynamic statements where I’m looking at by month P & L lines where I pick up the actuals for the months thru the month of my choosing then the budgeted amounts for the months for the remaining portion of the year so I can see my projected numbers thru the end of the year.

I use the item card user defined fields to help with this as well as the item categories.

The fun part of this is the ability to change the month on the statements and all the statements update so it’s a very dynamic report.  Because it’s in excel, you can also build on it if you need too.

I’d be happy to discuss offline it you’d like.  Too much information to get into in this blog.

      Thanks

Not sure exactly what you are looking for, but I can tell you that at Nuna Logistics they have used F9 for 21 years to do statements in Excel.  F9 is an Excel add-in that gives you Excel functions that pull directly from the GP databases – Summary amounts, GL transactions with full details available, and Budget.  It has also had Budget write-back capabilities all this time whereas Excel-based budgeting has only been around for half as long.  Its an inexpensive product that is very stable and easy to learn.
