Does anyone know if GP’s Account-Level Security is supposed to apply to SmartLists? I can’t seem to get it to work (testing with “Accounts” and “Account Transactions” list). We also have eOne’s SmartList Builder, so not sure if that could be affecting it as well.

Thanks in advance for any help!

The GP SmartLists should be applying Field Level Security.Ā  If they have been modified in SmartList Builder, then they will no longer apply the security.Ā  When something is made/modified in SmartList Builder, it becomes a system wide list and therefore doesn’t pull in the security of an individual company. The other thing with it is that many of the SmartList lists are built with Stored Procedures to apply Account Level Security.

To get the Account Level Security to work in a SmartList Builder list, you would have to join at least one of the Account Master Filter1 – 4 (GL00100F1 – F4) tables as well as the User Master (SY01400) to pull in which relationship the user is assigned to and the accounts in that relationship.Ā  I haven’t set this up myself in SmartList Builder, but you should be able to do it and then use the restrictions to apply a restriction on the User ID to each user.Ā  It could also be written as a SQL select statement and then put into SmartList Builder as a SQL Script table type.

      Hi Kelly,

Accounts and Account Transactions list is out of the box in Smartlist.Ā  You can also try to login as PowerUser and see if that works.Ā  If does then you can troubleshoot withĀ  security.

Thanks and for the suggestions – really appreciate it! Our SmartList workaround for the time being is to add restrictions to the Account Transactions list based on User Class (using SmartList Builder).

      Thanks again!???
