We are on Dynamics GP2015Ā  14.00.1016 (R2), and we all run Windows 10

We want to let our sales reps do their own Order Entry Quotes (to save us time), but I do NOT want them to have any access to our actual costs. When they see our costs, they tend to sell too low on some items, while not realizing we need some items to make more margin, while others less.

Also they get access to cost when doing Inquiries (see attached Pic as an example of how this is in the system).

Is there a way that I can setup a User Class (in this case a Sales Rep) who can create quotes for his customers, do basic enquires (Inventory and sales), but not have access to any of the item Costs (Unit Cost / Landed Cost /Ā  Standard Cost)?Ā
Currently you can uncheck “Display Item Unit Cost” inĀ  “Sales Order Processing Setup”,Ā  but some of our users find this info useful, and when the Sales Reps do an Inquiry, and drill down into and Invoice, and then an item, – they can get to the Cost anyways (see picture attached).

Is there a template out there now that someone is aware of that can be suggested?

Is there a User Template that can just give a user to SALES > TRANSACTIONS > SALES TRANSACTIONS ENTRY > and then only to QUOTESĀ  (I.E. we don’t want them to have any INVOICING capabilities).
      And access toĀ
      INVENTORY > INQUIRY > ITEM
      and
      SALES > INQUIRY > SALES ITEM Ā Ā  and Ā  CUSTOMER

If so, how do I get it and how does it get installed?

      Any other suggestions?

      Thank You

      Hi Clay

A combination of Modified forms and Field Level Security can achieve much of what you want.

When I have done similar customisations for other sites, I have also used GP Power Tools – Developer Tools module to add custom scripts to achieve things not possible with the standard tools.

you can customize the form to hide the field.Ā  give the modified form to your sales people and the standard form for those who need to see cost.

Make the modified form(s) as they said hiding the costs and then control access to quotes and orders only like this for your sales people:
