      Hi,
I’m adding the manufacturing module and so a bunch of new users.  I thought I had a security role built with the tasks but I’m not seeing what I thought I would with the users.  I’ve also just upgraded to 2016, and some of my users lost access to an Extender window.  So I’d like to do a complete security review to make sure I’ve got everything set right.

What is your favorite security report that links the most things together to get the entire picture?  I pulled the user security report and there are things listed on there that users still can’t see.

      Thank you!

      Hi Teresa

If you are working with Security, you should really look at GP Power Tools.

It has a suite of features for understanding, identifying and reporting on Security.

It even extends the security model with Deny Based Security.

      Features include:

      Resource Information
      Security Profiler
      Security Information
      Security Information Resources
      Security Logs
      Security Analyzer
      Enhanced Security
      Security Denied
      Security Hidden.

It will easily answer any question you have about security and resources.

Hi Teresa! Good to see you out there still using GP! J

We use the manufacturing module quite extensively and I struggle with that as well. What I usually do is log in as the user and validate their security that way. The report is just way too confusing.

      Hope that helps! J
