Error After Installing Mekorma
Posted by Vicki Hillary on June 13, 2017 at 2:53 pm-
After installing Mekorma on an existing GP workstation, we now get an unhandled exception error whenever we try to print a check or close GP.Ā I have contacted the vendor, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this after a Mekorma install.Ā I have done many other Mekorma installs, but never encountered this before.
Unhandled object exception:
The parameter is incorrect.EXCEPTION_CLASS_OBJECT_EXCEPTION

Hi Vicky,
When we installed Mekorma on our test server in preparation for upgrading to GP 2016 R2, we got that message, and several others when attempting to enter a vendor invoice, or print checks.Ā It turned out that our issues originated with these three products that were automatically included in the installation:
MICR for Canadian Payroll
Multi-Batch Print & Post
Assign by CheckbookSince we do not need to use any of those items they were removed from the installation and all error messages were resolved.

You need to upgrade Mekorma to the latest version.Ā This is due to the Windows 10 “Creator” update which creates a .NET 4.7 conflict with Mekorma.Ā Not all Windows 10 systems will have already been upgraded to the “Creator” update, but their turn will come soon enough.——————————

We are currently running Windows 2012 (not R2) and the auto updates were disabled several years ago by previous administrators.
So, we just attempted patching up one of our terminal servers where GP is deployed. To perform this test, we cloned the terminal server and let MS do its thing by permitted any and all updates to run on the clone.
This process took several hours and many reboots. When we log in and test, behaves as expected EXCEPT when a user closes GP with EXIT.
It throws the GP Dynamics Message Window :Unhandled object exception:
The parameter is incorrect.EXCEPTION_CLASS_OBJECT_EXCEPTION
ExceptionSubClass:-2147024809ĀWe are not at a point for full upgrade (next Spring) so we need to resolve the current solution to the latest 2012 updates for the OS.

Issue Resolved.
From Mekorma Support :Ā
This error message is generally indicative to a .Net issue regarding how our former code used ‘type libraries’.Ā ‘Type libraries’ are ‘static’ which states exactly where Dexterity will find commands and data in a .NET object.
When Microsoft released changes to both .NET 4.7 as well as Windows Creator (Windows 10), they made unspecified changes within it that made the .NET code no longer match what our internal type libraries definition stated.
The new pattern we use is a ‘dynamic’ model, where the Dexterity code doesn’t have to know in advance what the .NET code looks like to communicate. Please download and install the currently published Mekorma build for GP2015R2.
MEKORMA2015 b176 –Ā will resolve “The parameter is incorrect” error.
https://www.mekorma.com/support/downloads.aspxAll machines that have Mekorma installed andĀ have this same SQL instance will have to be upgraded.
