We have some custom Dexterity code for GP 10 used for order entry.Ā A particular field is encrypted within Dexterity.Ā Does anyone know what type of encryption or what level of encryption is used for GP 10 Dexterity?
We are planning to upgrade from GP10 to GP2016 R2.Ā Does anyone know if the complexity of encryption within Dexterity has increased from the GP 10 Dexterity level?Ā Ā Does anyone know, or can they reveal,Ā the actual level of encryption used by Dexterity 2016?
Thank you

Nothing has changed with the encryption methods in Dexterity.
There is the table column implementation which is fairly simple as well as two sets of functions one which is simple and the other which is a bit more secure. None of the Dexterity encryption methods meet the current industry standards and should not be counted as truly secure.
Note you will not have any issues upgrading due to encypted/obscured fields.
