This is the first year that my company is required to e-file.  Can anyone suggest a good vendor for this process?

      Thanks,
      Christine

Definitely Greenshades – they actually install tables into your GP install, and export data directly from GP into their online system.  Works pretty seamlessly!

I have clients using Greenshades and Aatrix. You could research them further to see which one better suits your needs. Aatrix costs much less but Greenshades seems to be easier.

We use Greenshades to produce, mail and efile our 1099’s,  Fairly smooth process and great customer service.  Please feel free to give me a call if you would like to discuss.

We have several clients using Greenshades, it is pretty seamless with GP. They can be pretty slammed, as far as implementation goes, this time of year. There are lots of GP partners that can do the implementation, so don’t be discouraged if they say they cannot implement until February/March, there are a lot of other options.

We use a low cost application called CheckMark 1099.  It is not integrated with Dynamics GP so there is some extra effort with this solution.  We export our 1099 data via SmartList and import it to CheckMark 1099.  The application prints our 1099s and generates a file for eFile.  The solution works well and because it’s external to Dynamics GP, I don’t need to manage another GP add-in application for something that we do once a year.

We also have had success using Greenshades for our 1099s.

Since we’ve occasionally had to make corrections/changes to our 1099s after sending to the vendors this year we opted to file an automatic 30 day extension to file the forms with the IRS.  Form 8809 is very simple to fill out and extends the due date to March 2nd.

Thanks all for the kind words on Greenshades.

This is a tricky year for most people on year-end because of the accelerated 1099-Misc deadline of January 31 to both the IRS and the recipients.

If you would like to talk to someone here at Greenshades, feel free to email me BrLlorente@greenshades.com, and I’ll get you taken care of.

I created a modified form for Print 1099 that generates the file needed to upload to the IRS site.  It works fine for our needs and does not cost us anything extra.  So far, all files submitted to the IRS have been accepted without any issues.

I created a SQL report that generates the file directly out of GP.  We have submitted it to the IRS and error free.  Other then the cost to develop the report, there is no extra costs for a software.
