When processing payroll and during the posting process, the Direct Deposit Transaction Register report takes over 20 minutes to finish, which is a light longer than any other report.
This happens for 1 user only. Where should we start looking to troubleshoot?
I would get that user a faster workstation or at least double the RAM.
The other things to try would be to clear out the temp folders and check you anti-virus settings. Anti-virus should exclude GP temp tables. You can locate the temp folder by typing %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Explorer.
Microsoft Dynamics GP temp tables all beginning with a ‘TNT’ prefix and have a .dat, .tmp and/or .idx extensions. C-tree temp files are not removed when Dynamics GP is done with them.
Although these C-tree files are usually small, because they are created with an 8.3 file name, you could, after years of running Dynamics GP, use up all available file names, and that would cause Dynamics GP to not function properly. These temp files and folders should be deleted on a regular basis.

Hi Mark,
Thank you for the suggestion.
We tried the RAM and deleting the temp files. Unfortunately, that didn’t help. We cross tested the usernames on different computers, for comparison and we believe it’s this GP user in particular and not Windows.
Though, cleaning the temp files seems to have boosted the processing of Garnishments.
