      ?Hey All,
So we have multiple divisions in our company and multiple physical sites and have for years.Ā  Our entire accountingĀ  department is in one location along with purchasing.Ā  When we do a purchase order 90% of the orders are for a different physical location then the main address so the purchasing team has to remember to change the address on the PO.Ā  Is there a way to default this only on purchase orders?Ā  All the sales, invoices, payments, etc need to come to the mainĀ address but would like the default on the PO to be different (and we still need the ability to change it 10% of the time).Ā  Keep in mind we also have other GP companies so changing the report itself gets difficult.Ā  We just upgraded to GP 2018.
      Thanks for any replies,

      Hi Rick,
Are you using the built-in purchasing / requisition system in GP or any external 3rd-party product ?Ā  I don’t think you can achieve this within GP itself, other than creating a customized report (alternate) where you would have a fixed address for the delivery, rather then using the one that comes from GP’s company address cards.. but that doesn’t solve the issue with having to remember to ‘select’ the proper report (though it might be easier to implement, since it’s at print time that you select the alternate format).Ā
We use an external procurement tool (eRequester) and there you can define a default shipping address by department or user for the locations.. which probably would solve your problem.
eRequester has many other advantages vs. GP’s built-in procurement, which would be too long to detail here.

      Hi Beat,
Thanks for the reply.Ā  Yes this is using the built in functions of GP for purchase orders.Ā  I just wanted to see if the new version added some sort of functionality that could handle this.

      HI Rick,
Unfortunately not much has changed in 2018 in this regards.. However, if you setup the Purchase RƩquisitions for your users, at least you get them a chance to chose a different ShipTo Address, whereas in the default PO Entry form, it defaults to the PRIMARY address that is setup in your company setup screen..

By using the Requisition entry form instead of PO Entry form, your users are forced to submit for approval the purchase and it can be corrected if not right, and the Ship To field is empty by default, which gives them the ability to select one from the pull-down list (looked up from your company’s address list setup).Ā

If they do not select a default Ship To address, then the approver can return the requisition forĀ  correction.Ā
I don’t really see another way of handling this, unless you don’t want to go the requisition route and enter the PO’s directly, then your only other option as mentioned in my prior reply, would be to use a hard-coded Ship-To address on the POP Blank report in a customized version.
