I was contacted by the DAC leadership with some clarifications. My opinion of this was based on a phone call with one of their sales teams selling to partners for partner memberships and I don’t think THAT guy got this right at all – though I did make some recommendations to leadership on how to optimize this for users, let me spell out how I’m finding it working now.
bookmark YOUR profile, but if you login you can get to it ?in the upper right corner and then click on ‘My DAC Account’ and then “Edit Profile”
I would START with editing your profile because THAT will drive what content you may be interested in
Once you have your profile set, then if you ‘View your profile you can add content there
Then, the content you uploaded can be searched.
When you are on the home screen of your feed then you can use their search function (they kinda need to work on this one, but it works well enough) you can search for articles that you need help with
I think GPUG will remain the Q&A Forum because it is still up and running, but DAC can confirm that.
I do know that live webinars won’t be given but folks can upload how-to-videos that are searchable so if you are looking for a webinar then you can TRY the search function (again, it needs work).
I have also been told (though I need to try it out) that I was mis-informed on the click-bait for viewing how-to’s and other articles, I was informed you can opt-out at the time of reading or some other way – so that is good.
I do think that the site needs to be optimized and the search functions updated because a search on integrations brought up a ton of non-integration related stuff, but if what I’m learning the last few hours is true then it is worth learning and watching.
I think DAC needs to produce EASY TO READ navigation how-to’s often and THOSE need to be the first thing we all see on our ‘dacfeed’ until we can get used to this site. No wordy replies, but actual and EASY instructions on how to do this.????
