Helllo all – I am at a loss on where to look next to resolve the error I’m receiving in GP 2010 when running the FA Year End. The error is “Assets have not been fully depreciated through the last day of the current fiscal year. Do you want to close the year?”, I click “No” so that I don’t mess up the YTD depreciation and can correct this error.

I have checked that following areas in an attempt to resolve this error and have been unsuccessful in getting it to clear:

      1) Ran depreciation again for with a target date of 12/31/2016.
      2) Double checked my fiscal periods to ensure that the first day is 01/01/2016, last day is 12/31/2016 and the period dates are all first day of the month.
      3) Verified that my current fiscal year under book setup is set to 2016.
      4) Reviewed each of my assets to ensure they have a “Last Depreciated to Date” of 12/31/2016.

What am I missing? I have never run into this before and I am now at a loss. You’re help is deeply appreciate.

I’ve not run into this before but it looks like you’ve covered the basics in order to resolve.  You might also validate the Calendar specifically in the FA module (Financial > Setup > Fixed Assets > Calendar)

      Also found this article:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2929773

This is an excerpt of the above article:  Note This behavior may also occur if an asset has a depreciation method of No Depreciation. If that is the case, you can click through the message. This issue was logged as Quality Issue #63786 and was resolved in Service Pack 4 (SP4) for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 and in SP1 for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013

If you’ve verified all assets are in fact depreciated fully for the year, it should allow you to proceed with closing.
