How do you review the check stub alignment to test if your check information will align correctly on the check stock?  We are just setting up the accounts payable and want to determine if the check stock aligns properly.  Thanks,

There are a couple of ways that you can do this.

      1) If you have a test company, then you can generate a check in GP and print it on blank white paper (or on the check stock if you don’t mind wasting one). Then, put the check stock underneath the printed piece of paper and hold it up to the light. You should be able to see if it is aligned properly or not.

      2) In your live company, create a check batch and add a check to it. Then, navigate to Purchasing –> Transactions –> Print Checks. Choose the batch that you just created. Then, in the bottom right hand corner, select to print the Alignment Form instead of Checks. Print that to your printer and hold it up against the check stock (or print it directly on the check stock if you don’t mind wasting one). After you are done, delete the batch you created.

Are you using the Check Formats in the Report Writer, or do you have a software (like Mekorma) that prints the checks? Which check format are you using? What doesn’t line up? Is it a lot of fields, or just a few fields?

      Hi,
I use the report writer in Dynamics to adjust the alignment of our checks.  Not sure if this will help you or not, but here are the steps I follow:

      • Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP–>Tools–>Customize–>Report Writer
      • Click on Reports & Under Original Reports find “Check with Stub on Top and Bottom-Graphical”
      • Insert this report into the Modified Reports & click open.
      • Click on layout and here you can move fields as needed.

      Hope this helps,
      Courtney
