I started to print a very large batch of checks and didn’t realize my printer was off-line.  When I put it back online, it printed a couple of things that were in memory waiting for the printer.  The result is the first five checks that I was going to print are now full of text.  I pulled the remaining checks out of the printer but don’t know what to next!  I will obviously need to void those five checks but I need to cancel that print job and restart again.  I did not “process” the check run so the payables checks have not been posted.  Help!  Thanks!!!

      Hello Caroline,

Assuming that you have not yet ventured further, you can handle this in two parts.

First part will be to void the five cheques (checks) where the physical cheque is no longer usable, the second part being to reprint the remainder of the batch. Both of these steps are achieved on the “Post Payables Checks” window ( Transactions –> Purchasing –> Post Cheques ).

After selecting the Batch ID, you just need to change the value in the “Process” drop down list field from “Post Cheques” to Void Cheques for the first pass, or Reprint Cheques for the second pass, then amend the RANGE from ALL to the specific cheque numbers that applies to each pass.

Okay, there is an alternate option. Print the range of cheques where the cheque stock is still unblemished using the original cheque numbers (same as above). Do a second pass for the five cheques when the paper stock unusable. For these you change the starting cheque number to the next available cheque number. This will eliminate the need to void the cheques and redoing the payment voucher. By reprinting with a different cheque number, DynamicsGP will mark the original cheque numbers as voided within the Cash management module.

I am sure you have already cancelled the existing print job, or printed it onto blank paper to clear the print job.

Unsure the above steps will get the results you need?

Repeat entire payment batch creation and printing within your test company, then apply these details at the equivalent stage, though printing to blank paper stock!
