      Hello –

Just wanted to share my recent blog on how to use a macro to process NSF.

Out of the 13,000 records we drafted there were 300+ transactions with No Sufficient Fund (NSF) or bank account was not yet ready to be drafted. In this video I will show you how to create a macro to save you time and energy in processing NSF in Dynamics GP.   Here’s the link.

      Hope this helps!

      Hi

Thanks for posting the forum thread and your blog article.

?Here is more information on this technique from my 2008 blog article:

      https://winthropdc.wordpress.com/2008/10/29/how-to-use-word-mail-merge-and-macros-to-import-data/

We should also mention John Arnold’s Replicator Tool which makes this technique extremely easy:

      http://rnoldz.com/replicator.html

A final point.  Macros cannot perform any action that need conditional processing, such as only entering specific fields when the data has this checkbox selected. Talking about checkboxes, Macros always toggle the checkbox, they cannot set it to true or false as it just clicks on it and does not know what the previous value was. If you want integration with conditional functionality, I would suggest using GP Power Tools with Dexterity scripting to drive the user interface. As the code can read the previous data and have conditional code, you have lots of extra capability.

Bonus point: If you have GP Power Tools installed, you will have an option to Play Fast on the Macro menu which can run macros about 3 times faster than the standard Play option.

      Hope this is useful information.

      Regards

      David

      Hi ,

Thanks for sharing this additional info, this is very helpful!

I found out from my last GPUG ?Chapter meeting that there are many users doing the NSF process manually.  That’s why having this techniques resurface will definitely help our community.

It may be good to turn off ‘made for kids’ on the video so that it can be saved in YouTube.  When ‘made for kids’ is turned on, videos can’t be saved.
