AZ (Phoenix) chapter meeting Feb 22nd – Jet Express!
Posted by kathy.kim@dnaz.org on February 3, 2017 at 6:30 am-
Don’t forget to sign up for the AZ chapter meeting on Feb 22nd from noon-4 AZ time. We’ll be having a representative from Jet Reports speaking on Jet Express, the new free reporting tool for GP. Topped off with an all-new version of GP Jeopardy and roundtable discussions, we think it will be a great meeting. Thanks to Lifelock, Inc. for providing the meeting location.

Kathy,Nice! Sounds like a great presentation topic. We just converted to GP 2016 and I’ll be looking more into Jet Reports.
And LifeLock is a GP user? That’s pretty cool!

Steve – I can only dream of having the attendance that you have at the 2 Wisconsin chapter meetings, but hopefully this topic will entice some members to give chapter meetings a try! And thanks to Jeff LaBelle for getting LifeLock involved in the GPUG chapter meetings. He was an active member when working for another company and has been a great advocate for the local chapter.

Kim and Steve,
I have actually written a report in Jet Express. It took awhile to get it correct, thanks to help from Jet. In fact I am giving a demo of what I have done at the next MN Chapter Meeting in 2 weeks.
Berger has not rolled it out yet. Not sure when that will happen, but overall I think that Jet has promise. It does have a learning curve though. The nice thing is formatting is so much easier in Jet than MR.

Thanks for the input Bert! I am really looking forward to this presentation. They were supposed to present at our previous meeting and had a family emergency at the last minute and were unable to attend.

Hi Bert,It might help to look at a Jet Report financial statement as an Excel spreadsheet. The only difference, is that you are using Jet’s GL function to pull the account balances from GP.
I would recommend the following approach:
1. Create the report in Excel.
You can use your standard Excel fonts, formats, etc. You can even export a Frx/MR report to Excel and use it as the basis for the new report.
2. Delete all the account balances from the report.
3. Use the GL button to pull the data from the relevant G/L accounts into the report. Just enter the appropriate values into the interface. The approach is similar to that used in the Frx/MR row formats. You can even link to an Excel cell for things such as dates, budget names, etc.
4. Take a coffee break and congratulate yourself on a job well done.

Hi Kathy,If your members want to do some prep work for the meeting, the following videos should help.

I found the first 3 very useful when I was learning Jet Reports.
