Hello,

I changed our AR aging buckets under Sales/Setup/Receivables to add a bucket for 121 and over days. I’m looking for a Historical Aged Trial Balance report that will export to excel and will show the new bucket. I don’t want to customize any reports but was looking for one that would incorporate this change. Can you please point me to the right area? I did find one under Sales/Reporting Services Reports but I wasn’t able to get any data to show up so I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong. Thanks!

Hi,
I am sure that you most likely have done this, but it is worth checking. After you change the aging buckets in the Receivables setup, you will need to run the Aging Process from the routines window. This should recalculate the aging as per the changes. I have also found cases where I have needed to run reconcile first and then the aging but be sure that you have the appropriate backups and measures in place before running reconcile as it can change your customer balances.

Hello Amber,

Unfortunately, you probably need to customize the aging reports (summary and detail).  It’s not easy. There are calculated fields to be created and advanced settings to drill into.  The real fun comes in moving or removing things on the report to make room for your new column.

I recommend giving this task to your MS partner (if there isn’t anyone on staff that knows Report Writer).

As usual, your best bet is SmartLists.

Once you change your Aging periods, be sure to run a Reconcile in AR so that GP moves the transactions to the right buckets for reporting.  THIS STEP IS OF VITAL IMPORTANCE

Then, in SmartLists (not builder, just straight SmartLists) your new buckets will automatically show up to add to reports. 

Shoot those into Excel and Pivot on them for excellent reporting.
