Adding Budget # Report Manager
Posted by denise-amundson on February 15, 2021 at 1:19 pm-
Hi,
Looking for some assistance.Ā Currently using GP2018R3 and Management Reporter for FS.
There were a couple of expense accounts added in October 2020.Ā Each of these accounts have budget #s or the last e months of 2020.Ā Those numbers were updated in GP.Ā However, when printing the FS only one of the accounts shows the budget number.Ā I deleted, added, run check links and can not get the second account to show the budget numbers.
Not sure why it worked for one and not the other. Ā
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Denise

Hi
While I cannot speak directly to what you have going on without screenshots or more detail, I CAN say that there is 1 general rule when it comes to GP and Management Reporter:
If you see it in GP, but it is not reporting in Management Reporter and you have ensured that the row/column/tree should be allowing the data then the issue is the Data Mart (which is a type of data warehouse used by MR) and it has gotten out-of-sync with GP.Ā You should rebuild the DataMart.Ā If you do not know how you’ll need to contact your GP Administrator/IT Department or your partner for assistance.
If that does not resolve it then you must dive deeper into how the row/column/tree is reporting and make sure that account would show up somewhere.?

Few similar and added thoughts to help:
- In Management Reporter (MR), go to Tools | Refreshed Cached Financial Data
- Restart the Management Reporter Services, go to Tools | Connection where you will see the server where the 2 MR services are located
- In MR row, try a wild card range of accounts in row for test to make sure accts are being retrieved, in Column make sure correct budget ID/book code, especially if multiple company that the Budget IDs are the same
- All else fails, yes delete the MR data mart: Resetting the Management Reporter data mart | Microsoft Docs

Hey Derek,
Thanks for the information. When doing #2, the following message pops up “the connection can’t be modified while building block are open”.
Any suggestions, on what that means?
Sincerely,
Denise

Hi, you cannot have any rows/columns/trees/reports open so go to File | Close all then can to to Tools menu.
