  • Adding an inventory item – problem with location(s) being “all”

    When entering a new inventory item in GP, I seem to have an on-going problem with adding that part number to all my locations. Where can I do that in GP Dynamics?

    I add the item, go to the pricing and save. I put that part number on a PO and etc.

    Next time I add that part number to a SOP for another location, it is not an item yet for this location. How do I fix at the beginning so it is available to all my locations to add to SOP’s. etc?

    The way I understand it, the item will not be available to add to the SO from a location different than where it was received on the PO, until you do an inventory transfer from the PO site to the SO site.

    To allow the new inventory item to be used at all the sites, you must assign the item to all the sites on the Site Item Assignments screen (accessed from the Go To menu on the Item Quantities Maintenance screen).
